5 Ways to Change Up Your Room

It's a new year and who wants to carry the same old baggage into a brand new year? If you're like me, you'll take any excuse you can have to change things up a bit. Here are some very obvious, but inexpensive (for the most part) ways to change up your space!
#1 - Paint it. Yes, this one is pretty obvious. Painting can be a big job, but it is totally worth it when you are done. It can completely change the look of a room. It can be a bit expensive, which is why if you are on a budget, it's best to choose a color that matches your current theme. You can always save money and change your theme at a later time.

#2 - Rearrange. Rearranging furniture is a free and fairly easy way to change your room. Just changing the location of different items can make the room feel like a very different place.

#3 - Accessorize. This can be done by purchasing new paintings, scented candles (a favorite of mine), or picture frames. If you have a lot of time on your hands, creating your own accessories can be a LOT of fun! Buy a blank canvas and go crazy. Splatter painting is an extremely fun thing to do and a great stress relief. I recommend Hobby Lobby for all of your decorating needs, they usually have a lot of 50% clearance and also have additional coupons and stuff on their website, so check that out!

#4 - New fabrics. Purchase a new comforter or curtains. These can be expensive, but sometimes you can find some great deals on comforter sets, so just keep an eye out at stores like Ross and TJ Maxx for the best deals.

#5 - Lighting. This may seem too simple, but open a window! I have dark curtains in my room, so when I take them down and let in natural light, my room looks like a completely different place! Just make sure to close your windows at night, cause there are some creepers out there!
