5 Fun Date Ideas for Summer

1. Take a Hike

If you and your boyfriend are the more adventurous, outdoorsy type, a hike is a great way to spend time together. Enjoy nature together as you enjoy each other's company. However, you might not want to venture off into the woods alone with someone you don't know too well. Doubling up with another couple might be a wise idea for this trip.

2. Visit a Garden

It's the time of year when all kinds of pretty plants are in bloom. Head to the nearest botanical gardens for a romantic stroll down flower-lined pathways amidst topiaries and trickling fountains. Another upside? Most public gardens like this are free.

3. Tour a Museum

On those sizzling hot days when the temperature is 90 or above, stay cool indoors by visiting a museum. History, science, art, music...there's lots of different types of museums to check out depending on what you're into. You might even learn something.

4. Check Out a Yogurt Bar

Another way to cool down on those hot days? Stop by a yogurt bar. These new and improved ice cream parlors are popping up all over the place. They're buffet-style; get a cup, choose some frozen yogurt, and pile on whatever toppings you want, from fruit to syrups to chocolate to cookies. Have fun being creative, mixing and matching, and seeing which of you can make the tastiest treat.

5. Drive In to a Drive-In

It's the classic, all-American date: the two of you huddled together in his car, windows down, his arm around you as you stare up through the windshield at the giant screen playing the latest summer flick. Perfect for a warm summer's night. And drive-ins usually charge by the car, not by person, so bring some friends along and make it a double date.
